Instructor: Sam Eisenstein, PhD, MFT, and fervent dog-lover, is an instructor (always having favored creative writing) who began at LACC in 1961, and is still teaching there part-time. He is a Fulbright scholar as well, having spent a year in Japan. His publications are many, including novels, collections of stories, essays and poetry, all available on line. In addition to leading groups for creative writing during his entire career, Dr. Eisenstein is also a licensed family therapist.
Tuesdays at 10: 00 am
For those who are not able to attend the Writing Club sessions on Fridays with Esther, we are opening a new session led by Sam Eisenstein.
The newly formed group will write and present their work to each other every week. It can be of any sort: biographical, fictional mixed in with personal history, wholly fantastic, even commentary on current events. The emphasis will be on continuity—writing to present to sympathetic others, in order to explore the otherwise hidden material every one harbors. The group leader will offer tips and suggestions without judgement. Not the least benefit is to be in the company of others who have always needed to express themselves but never had the opportunity to do so.
