Join us for our 50th Birthday!
Saturday, May 22, 10 am to 1:30 pm
The entire Pasadena community is invited to join us on Saturday, May 22 as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Pasadena Senior
Center.

It was on May 22, 1960 that representatives
from the City of Pasadena, the Junior League and other community groups gathered on the lawn at 85 East Holly Street to officially open the doors to the seniors of the San Gabriel Valley. We will browse down memory lane and celebrate how far we have come in the last 50 years. Celebration schedule:
  • 10–11:30 am: Class Samplings
  • 11:45 am: Happy Birthday, PSC!
Honored guests include Mayor Bill Bogaard, Senator Carol Liu and Assemblyman Anthony Portantino.
  • 12:00 pm: A look at the performing talents of our members featuring Dorothy Kloss of the Palm Springs Follies. Dorothy is the Center’s former Tap instructor and is the oldest performing showgirl in the country.
Hot dogs, popcorn and, of course, birthday cake will be served Please R.S.V.P. by Thursday, May 20 at the Welcome Desk or by calling (626) 795-4331.

Veteran Benefits to Help with Home Care Services
The Veterans Administration Benefit offers the Aid and Attendance Program. This benefit will pay for home health care and assisted in-home care for veterans and their surviving spouses, even if their disability was not service-connected. To qualify, the veteran must have served at least 90 days on active duty with at least one day during war-time. The veteran must be permanently and totally disabled, which means he or she must require care or assistance on a regular basis – which protects them from dangers of daily living activities and/or environment. For information, call (800) 827-1000.
