A new technique using music with writing classes is based upon newer research showing the effect of music upon the human psyche and overall wellbeing. Music is used in hospital to soothe and heal, and in foreign language schools for learning new languages amazingly quickly. When we are in a bad mood, listening to music improves how we feel. We feel elated after listening to music. Creative writing is also affected by music, and people show enhanced creativity and energy when listening to music, sometimes to the point where the writer cannot recognize the text as theirs because it is so different or unusually creative. A relaxed mind, unburdened from other thoughts and worries functions better. The research shows we use only a small part of the potential of our brains. Come and try writing while listening to meaningfully chosen rhythms and music. Refreshments will be served. Please register at the Welcome Desk.
