Opera for Everyone |
Opera for
Everyone is an enjoyable, easy to understandintroduction to the
wonderful world of opera. There will be lots of listening
to, and viewing of, high qualityopera videos of Luciano
Pavarotti, Placido Domingo,Maria Callas and other luminaries of
the operatic firmament. The focus will be on Italian
Opera:Tosca, Rigoletto, Elixir of Love, Cavalaria Rusticana, and
more.
The suggested textbook for this course is “Opera 101: A complete
Guide to Learning and Loving Opera” by Fred Plotkin.

About the Instructor
Arthur Logullo
is a former Los Angeles Opera employee
and an avid opera recorder. He has been teaching this course for 22
years and is an expert at explaining operatic characters as real human
beings with whom
everyone can identify.
