About the Instructors
Marina Bowman is the
director of Sweet Science Nutrition. She is a registered dietitian
specializing in weight management, women’s nutrition and heart disease.
Ms. Bowman has significant experience in many facets of the health
industry. She worked as a clinical dietitian at three major hospitals in
Los Angeles, conducting one-on-one patient consults in English, Spanish
and her native Romanian. Ms. Bowman received a Bachelor’s Degree in
Dietetics from Brigham Young University. She completed an accredited
internship at Glendale Memorial Hospital and is currently fulfilling her
thesis for a Master’s Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics through Central
Michigan University. Ms. Bowman is also a qualified CNSD (Certified
Nutrition Support Dietitian).
Johna Jimenez is a registered dietitian with Sweet Science
Nutrition. She specializes in weight management and diabetes education.
Ms. Jimenez has extensive professional experience in hospital acute
care, long-term care and the outpatient setting. She is a native of the
Philippines and has lived most of her life in Southern California. Ms.
Jimenez has earned a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition at San Diego State
University. She completed an accredited internship at Boston’s
Massachusetts General Hospital. Ms. Jimenez is committed to helping
clients achieve a healthy life balance through a nutrition counseling
approach that integrates emotional, mental, spiritual and physical
well-being in a way that is science-based and client-centered.
