AARP Driver Safety Program

AARP Smart Driving Course is a two-day course offered various Saturdays each month from 9:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m. and is designed to improve driving abilities in older adults. One day refresher courses are also offered various months. Cost is $15 for AARP members and $20 for non-AARP members. Preregistration with payment (check or money order) is required. Braille Institute

Braille Institute Braille class meets Fridays from Noon to 2:00 p.m. It is a combination of educational programming with information and speakers, and a support group for individuals with low vision.

Caring for the Caregiver

Caregiver Education & Support Groups are offered the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month from 1:00 - 2:30 p.m. Reservations are not required and walk-ins are welcome. For further information, call (626) 685-6732.

YWCA

Case Management, provided by YWCA Intervale, is offered to English and Spanish speaking clients one the 2nd Wednesday of the month from 9:30 -11:30 a.m.. Appointments are required and can be made by calling (626) 795 - 4331.

Chair Yoga

Chair Yoga is offered the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1:00 p.m. Registration is required so please call (626) 795-4331.

Food Bank

Food Distribution Program is held on the 1st Friday of the month from 9:00-10:30 a.m. The program is currently accepting new clients. If you are 60 years or older and meet low income guidelines, you may qualify. You must provide your Los Angeles County ID and an income statement. For more information, call (626) 685-6732.

Health Fairs

Health Fairs are offered the 3rd Friday of each month from 9:00-11:00 a.m. Vascular health screenings are now offered, as well as a Medical Safety Identification program (bring a list of medications, doctors and emergency contact information and they will be placed on a personal identification card free of charge). Other available services include hearing, blood pressure and glucose screenings, counseling, health and community resources. For further information, call (626) 685-6732.

HICAP

Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy is offered twice a month. Trained counselors provide unbiased information and counseling on Medicare, Medigap, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Part D and Cal MediConnect. Appointments are required so please call (626) 795-4331.

 BLANK

HIV Supportive Services for Seniors are offered in conjunction with the City of Pasadena Public Health Department and John Wesley Community Health Institute. For more information, please contact John Ruggles, MFT (323) 223-7717.

Tea Service

Home Tea Program is available to homebound seniors 50 years or older. Tea and an inspirational card are sent home each month. If you would like to have tea on us, call (626) 685-6732.

Hot Lunches

Hot Lunches are served each weekday. Reservations must be made by noon, at least one day in advance by calling (626) 685-6751. $3.00 donation ages 60 and older, $5.00 for under 60. Review our Senior Café Menu.

Legal

Legal Consultations are offered on certain issues on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays at 10:00 a.m.. For eligibility and appointments, please call (626) 795-4331.

Feet 2

Podiatry Clinical Care provides on-site foot health assessment and treatment services, including diabetic care on the 1st Thursday and 4th Tuesday of the month from 9:00 a.m.- noon. Medicare billing is available or a $35 fee for service. Appointments are required, so please call (626) 795-4331.

Rediscovering Hope

Rediscovering Hope is a group for those who are grieving the death of a loved one and meets Thursdays at 3 p.m. For further information, please call Jody Casserly, LCSW at (626) 918-2273, ext 7455.

Taxi

Taxi Vouchers are available on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 9:00 a.m. to low-income seniors 50 years or older, who reside in the Pasadena area. A picture ID and proof of income is required and two vouchers are given. Quantities are limited. For further information, please call (626) 685-6732.

Telephone Reassurance

Telephone Reassurance offers daily calls to homebound seniors to provide support and contact with others on a regular basis. To be placed on the list, please call (626) 685-6733.
