Spring is in the air! We hope the longer days and warmer weather gives you a heightened energy and sense of discovery as you contemplate the variety of classes we offer at the Pasadena Senior Center.

Perhaps it’s time to join one of the many exercise classes, or be inspired to begin a new hobby such as painting, writing or dancing, or improve skills you already possess. Is it finally time to learn more about computers, or how to navigate the internet?

The Pasadena Senior Center presents a stimulating array of classes with outstanding instructors and affordable class fees. Click here for descriptions of these new classes or see “Spotlight on Classes” in our magazine.

We look forward to seeing you and wish you a spring time full of health and peace.

All are welcome

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a great advocate and lifelong supporter of the Pasadena Senior Center and California Senior Games.

Cynthia was extraordinary. She dedicated most of her working life to making the Pasadena Senior Center a better place. Cynthia had been a part of the Center for more than 30 years, initially serving on our Board of Directors and then joining our staff. Up until her death, she was the Center’s Director of Events, Volunteers & Senior Games.

Cynthia’s dedication and commitment were an integral part of the Center’s success and growth. She worked tirelessly on behalf of our members and coordinated all of our special events throughout the year, from monthly birthday parties to holiday celebrations. Under Cynthia’s leadership, the Center’s Concerts in the Park and the Masters Series programs were introduced and flourished.

Cynthia was involved with senior athletes for over 30 years. In 1992, she brought the Senior Olympics to Pasadena where it became the home of the California Senior Games. Her passion was so great that she became the California representative of the National Senior Games Association (NSGA).

Although Cynthia will be greatly missed, the impact she made will remain. In her honor, we will use her famous closing words,

Hubba! Hubba!
