Three individual presentations focus on history and legacy of cultural icons that are 100 or more years old but still are important parts of local and national culture. Historian Galen Wilkes and special guests give us a history of Ragtime Music, including new compositions of his own (October 6), Professor Andi Stein tours us through the legends of Route 66 in its centennial year (Oct 13), and the Los Angeles Public Library’s photo curator Christina Rice shares the history of the Los Angeles Public Library and its iconic 1926 Central Library building.
