New hub opens in Altadena to provide post-fire support The new location, at 730 E. Altadena Drive, was set up to ensure that wildfire survivors continue access to essential resources and assistance following the closure of the Disaster Recovery Centers last week.
The doors officially opened on Monday, June 2, at the Altadena Community Center, with the goal of providing critical recovery support for people affected by the Eaton Fire.
The new location, at 730 E. Altadena Drive, was set up to ensure that wildfire survivors continue access to essential resources and assistance following the closure of the Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) on Saturday, May 31.
It will operate from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and offer services from local, state, and federal partners.
FEMA and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) representatives will be onsite to help navigate application updates, explain recovery programs, and provide assistance with rental support for displaced families, according to Supervisor Kathryn Barger’s office.
The Los Angeles County Department of Consumer and Business Affairs (DCBA) will continue offering in-person services to protect residents against price gouging and scams, assist with tenant and worker protections, and support landlords, homeowners, and business owners.
The Office of the Assessor and the County’s Treasurer and Tax Collector will also be available to provide technical guidance related to property taxes and assessments.
“I want to ensure my constituents know that support will still be available as they continue their recovery journey,” said Supervisor Kathryn Barger in a statement. “By moving these vital services to the Altadena Community Center, we’re creating a more accessible, long-term support hub to help fire survivors rebuild and regain stability.”

Loss isn’t just about what’s missing—it’s about what mattered. In a culture that rushes to “move on,” we often bypass the most essential parts of true healing and personal growth—to actively engage in the full range of our emotions and begin to honor the experience of grief and loss. This is not about fixing or forgetting—it’s about integrating memories in a way that brings peace, meaning, and wholeness to our lives. Join these discussion groups to share experiences and receive support from others in a compassionate, safe, and confidential space as we work through the healing journey. For more information contact the Welcome Desk at (626) 795-4331. To contact Foundation for Senior Services call (855) 836–0807 or via email at
