Aging in Place and Thriving in Motion

By Leslie Lovejoy

Today, retirement is a whole new story - one that can be full of fresh possibilities.

We are living healthier, longer lives now, and retirees can look forward to 20 to 25 years of active living after 65. Current research indicates that today's seniors enjoy unprecedented freedom and flexibility. They have keen perspectives, high emotional intelligence, and they live in the moment. Many retirees choose to stay in the workforce longer, simply because they love what they do and/or they rely on the income. Others reinvent themselves, maybe by starting a whole new business or by devoting themselves to a new hobby, a fun activity, or they seize the chance to give back to their communities.

In other words, we've gone from aging in place to thriving in motion.
