CYCLING FOR HEALTH AND COMMUNITY ON SAT. MAY 2 AT PASADENA SENIOR CENTER
Remember how great and freeing it felt as a kid to ride your bike? Do you still cycle? Join cycling advocate and Altadena Town Council member Dorothy (Dot) Wong as she presents ‘Cycling for Health and Community’ at a special presentation on Saturday, May 2 at 1:30 p.m. onsite at the Pasadena Senior Center.
Dorothy will share her stories, tips, and resources for fun and safe cycling that she’s learned from her decades of involvement in the community. She knows first-hand how cycling can foster community and friendships, promote health and wellness and help the environment.
The event is free and reservations are suggested. To register, or for more information, visit www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org and click on Lectures & Classes, then Informational Lectures, or call 626-795-4331.
It doesn’t matter whether you haven’t been on a bike in 40 years or regularly race in tournaments — Dorothy will engage and inspire you!
Dorothy “Dot” Wong was born and raised in Hawaii, moving to Los Angeles in 1983. She worked in Hollywood for 20+ years in production, and her skills translated easily to become a community organizer specializing in bicycling advocacy, recreation and sport. Dot reached the elite level of bicycle racing earning the gold medal in mountain biking at the World Masters Games in 2005. She is an experienced bicycling and pedestrian safety educator working with local advocacy organizations such as LA County Bicycle Coalition and Active SGV, as well as with Walk ‘N Rollers Bicycling-Pedestrian Safety programs across Southern California.
