SAMPLE FEE-BASED PASADENA SENIOR CENTER WINTER CLASSES FOR FREE DURING “CLASS TASTING” VIA ZOOM
Four times a year the Pasadena Senior Center offers a full lineup of fee-based courses for members and nonmembers 50 and older.
As the registration period for 30 fee-based winter courses approaches, anyone can choose from more than a dozen of the most popular offerings – from Acting to Zumba Gold – by attending half-hour “class tastings” for free Monday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 4, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Prospective winter participants will meet the instructors and learn more about the courses. Each class tasting will last between 30 minutes and an hour. Some will be via Zoom and others onsite at Pasadena Senior Center.
- Monday, Jan. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. via Zoom – Strength Training at 10 a.m., French (Beginner) at 11 a.m., French Intermediate/Advanced) at 11:30 a.m., Creative Writing at 12:30 p.m., Acupressure and Reflexology at 1:30 p.m., BollyX (low-impact dance/cardio) at 2:30 p.m.
- Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 9 a.m. via Zoom as well as onsite at Pasadena Senior Center – Yoga.
- Tuesday, Jan. 4, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. – Zumba Gold at 9:30 a.m., Tap (Beginner and Intermediate) at 10 a.m., Spanish (Intermediate) at 10:30 a.m., QiGong and Tai Chi at 11 a.m., Spanish Reading for Beginners at 11:30 a.m., The Art and Joy of Sewing at 12 p.m., Ballroom Dancing at 1 p.m., Ballroom Line Dancing at 1:30 p.m., Yoga Presence and Practice/Meditation at 2 p.m., Acting at 3 p.m. and Film History at 3:30 p.m.

In addition to online classes, onsite events and other activities, members and nonmembers of the Pasadena Senior Center are encouraged to visit the website regularly for a monthly magazine, COVID updates specifically for older adults and more.
The center, at 85 E. Holly St., is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has served older adults for more than 60 years. During the pandemic, doors are open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for social services and other critical services for older adults in need as well as the library, Sy Graff Fitness Center, computer lab and limited occupancy for events. Masks and social distancing are required. Rooms are sanitized after each use.
In accordance with Los Angeles County Public Health Department guidelines, proof of COVID vaccination is required for everyone who uses the fitness center or attends onsite activities indoors.
