AMERICAN ART MUSEUMS AND COLLECTORS WILL BE THEME FOR SECOND SPRING TERM OF THE MASTERS SERIES  AT PASADENA SENIOR CENTER AND VIA ZOOM

The U.S. is home to some of the most renowned art collections and distinctive art collectors in the world.

A second opportunity for a spring term of The Masters Series, with the theme American Art Museums and Collectors, will be presented by the Pasadena Senior Center Tuesdays, May 24 to June 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. via Zoom as well as onsite at the center.

Art historian Katherine E. Zoraster, whose specialty is art of the western world from the Renaissance to the 20th century, will lead the multimedia sessions with examples of some of America's more notable art museums and explain the history behind them. She also will describe some of the colorful art-collector personalities as well as museums' architecture and collections.

The cost for this six-week course of The Masters Series, which embraces lifelong learning, is only $75 for members of the Pasadena Senior Center and $90 for nonmembers.

To register for the onsite or Zoom events, visit www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org and click on Lectures & Classes, then Masters Series Lifelong Learning. Everyone who registers for the Zoom events will receive email instructions for joining each week’s Zoom class online.

For more information, call 626-795-4331.

In addition to online classes, onsite events and other activities, members and nonmembers of the Pasadena Senior Center are encouraged to visit the website regularly for a monthly magazine, COVID updates specifically for older adults and more.

The center, at 85 E. Holly St., is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has served older adults for more than 60 years. During the pandemic, doors are open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for social services and other critical services for older adults in need as well as limited occupancy for events, the library, fitness center and computer lab. Rooms are sanitized after each use.

In accordance with Pasadena Public Health Department guidelines, proof of COVID vaccination is required for everyone who uses the fitness center or attends onsite activities indoors. Masks are optional.
