SPORTS COMPETITIONS ANNOUCED FOR PASADENA SENIOR GAMES

Registration opened April 20 for the 28th Pasadena Senior Games, a series of competitive sporting events ranging from archery to track and field in May, June and July.

Upcoming competitions are available for registration by athletes, from beginners to seasoned contenders, and spectators are welcome.

Events are in alphabetical order:

  • Archery – Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10, at Conejo Valley Archers Tournament Range in Simi Valley
  • Bowling – Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10, at Jewel City Bowl in Glendale
  • Cycling – Tuesday and Wednesday, June 21 and 22, at El Dorado East Regional Park in Long Beach
  • Disc golf – Saturday, June 18, at Hahamongna Watershed Park in Pasadena
  • 5K fun walk – Sunday, June 26, at the Rose Bowl Loop in Pasadena
  • Golf – Wednesday, June 8, at Brookside Golf Club in Pasadena
  • Pickleball – Saturday and Sunday, May 21 and 22 at Arcadia Tennis Center
  • Power walk (road) – Sunday, June 26, at the Rose Bowl Loop in Pasadena
  • Power walk (track) – Saturday, June 4, at Occidental College in Eagle Rock
  • Race walk (road) – Sunday, June 26, at the Rose Bowl Loop in Pasadena
  • Race walk (track) --- Saturday, June 4, at Occidental College in Eagle Rock
  • Road race – Sunday, June 26, at the Rose Bowl Loop in Pasadena
  • Softball (coed) – Friday and Saturday, June 17 and 18, at Peterson Park and Pantera Park in Diamond Bar
  • Softball (women) – Saturday and Sunday, July 16 and 17, at Little Lake Park in Santa Fe Springs
  • Swimming – Sunday, June 5, at Rose Bowl Aquatics Center in Pasadena
  • Table tennis – Saturday, August 6, at Pasadena Senior Center
  • Tennis – Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24, at Arcadia Tennis Center in Arcadia
  • Track and field – Saturday, June 4, at Occidental College in Eagle Rock

There also will be a Celebration of Athletes party Friday, June 24, at the Pasadena Senior Center.

All sports are open to adults 50 to 99+. Previous competitive experience is not required, and no other qualifications are necessary. First-time competitors, weekend warriors and seasoned athletes are encouraged to register by visiting www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org and clicking on Activities & Events, then Senior Games.

The Pasadena Senior Games were canceled in 2020 and 2021 due to COVID.

The Pasadena Senior Center, at 85 E. Holly St., is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has served older adults for more than 60 years. During the pandemic, doors are open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for social services and other critical services for older adults in need as well as limited occupancy for events, the library, fitness center and computer lab. Rooms are sanitized after each use.  

In accordance with updated Pasadena Public Health Department guidelines, proof of COVID vaccination is required for everyone who uses the fitness center or attends onsite activities indoors. Masks are optional. All onsite instructors and presenters are required to meet minimum COVID protocols.
