ALFRED HITCHCOCK AND HIS MASTERFUL FILMS WILL BE THEME
FOR SPRING TERM OF THE MASTERS SERIES VIA ZOOM
“Murder Can Be Fun: Alfred Hitchcock and the Secrets of His Cinema” will be the theme of the three-week spring term of The Masters Series, which embraces lifelong learning, Tuesdays, March 14, 21 and 28, presented by the Pasadena Senior Center via Zoom.
Nearly a century after his first directing credit, the films of Alfred Hitchcock continue to thrill, terrify and delight audiences worldwide.
Participants in The Masters Series will discover how Hitchcock channeled his private fears into cinema classics that remain the gold standard for suspense: “Rebecca,” “The Man Who Knew Too Much,” “Vertigo,” “Rear Window,” “North by Northwest” and many more.
Each presentation by Emmy-nominated producer Steven C. Smith will feature an aspect of Hitchcock’s work as Smith leads participants in a discussion about the director’s genius for weaving layers of romance, adventure, deceit and murder into his films.
The cost for this three-week series is only $35 for members of the Pasadena Senior Center and $45 for nonmembers.
To register for the Zoom series, visit www.pasadenaseniorcenter.org and click on Lectures & Classes, then Masters Series Lifelong Learning. Everyone who registers will receive email instructions for joining each week’s Zoom class online.

The center is an independent, donor-supported nonprofit organization that has served older adults for more than 60 years. Beginning Monday, Mar. 6, extended spring and summer hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon. Rooms are sanitized after each use. Masks are optional.
